Sometimes I wonder if it is easier to lose weigh if you have been thin before. I have never been thin or even the appropriate weight. I sometimes think that if I knew what it felt like to be thin and healthy then it would be easier. Now don't get me wrong I don't think it is ever easy but maybe easier. Maybe it would be easier if I knew that I could be thinner and what it looks/feels like.
I have no idea what 120 feels like, I can very vaguely remember 160. Ahh to live in my goal body for a day would do me a world of good.

really interesting question.
and one Im not sure about.
when I was a trainer it almost went 50/50.
clients who had been thin were so often ANGRY at themselves for "getting this way" (their words) that it hindered our progress.
hard to know and, Id imagine, so unique to the individual.

I often wonder this. The smallest I can remember being would probably be 180lbs ... I don't know how it feels to be "skinny". I just know how it feels to be "morbidly obsese" or so the BMI calculators say.
About 16 years ago I weighed about 185 & lost 50-55 pounds pretty easily over about 9-10 months; I maintained about 132-135 easily for the next 4-5 years. Then I went through some life changes - divorce, changes in jobs, remarriage, moving, and over the next 10 years I gained it all back plus additional. Now I weigh 195 & I am working to lose about 50-55 pounds AGAIN. Unfortunately I am 16 years older & I really do think it is tougher this time. As MizFit said, I am angry at myself.
